I guess this was bound to happen at some point!  Due to one devil-hearted neighbor and police problems, there will be no more shows at Jurassic Park.  Everyone knows that if I could still have shows, I absolutely would, but with police coming down on me, the risk is too high.  I still don’t know what “dropping an airstrike” means, but I really don’t wanna find out!

But this isn’t entirely a bad thing!  I’m still gonna be in the area setting up shows here and there in the future, and I’m gonna use the time to hopefully get something awesome set up so it’s ready right when I graduate in August.  Plus I get to spend more time playing with my bands, Dino DNA and High School Girls (shameless plug).

I don’t even know how to begin thanking people for supporting Jurassic Park.  When I first walked through the house in October 2009, prior to living there, I knew I wanted to start a house venue and have a bunch of shows there, but I could have never anticipated what JP actually became.  Seeing people and bands having a great time at Jurassic Park became the main reason for why I loved having shows.  It quickly turned into one of the best things in my life, and words can’t explain how thankful I am of all the people that supported JP.  It was unbelievably amazing to see a community come together to support a super smelly basement with a tiny stage and awful carpet on the walls, and I couldn’t have asked for more.  I’m left with more than a few great memories, and I hope you guys got some good ones too.

Even though there are gonna be no more shows in my basement, the idea of Jurassic Park isn’t dead.  As I said before, I’m still gonna be booking shows and there’s still gonna be a bunch of rad shows going on around town.  So I think it would be silly to get rid of this FB page because I know that all the people here give a genuine shit about music in our town, so I’m gonna keep this page going strong with other basement or venue shows, or shows I’ve booked somewhere, or any other type of local promotion that I think y’all would care about.

Again, thanks for everything.
